
Rediscovering My Left Arm: A Reflection on Unseen Strengths
For the longest time, my left arm felt like a secondary character—struggling on the piano, less responsive when playing other instruments and playing a supporting role while conducting. Sure it could type but not much else. When writing with it my scribble looked like a kid with a crayon. I often resented it for not being as reliable as my right. But now, with my right wrist in a cast, I’m learning to rely on my left in ways I never anticipated.
This has sparked a lot of reflection on other overlooked skills and abilities. It’s a reminder not to underestimate hidden strengths or potential. Let’s give those unsung heroes in our lives the chance to shine.
